I hope this gets to you.
For the last many years I have been organising an annual conference on book-trade history. This year (end of November) we are inviting people to talk about the promotion and advertising of print. You came to mind at once. I gather you are in Indonesia at present and I’m afraid we cant get beyond the usual small fee (£100). We can support applications for grant money. Anyway, I wondered if you would be willing to consider doing a piece. We publish the papers in the course of the following year (British Library/Oak Knoll). Do let me know what you think, it would be good to hear from you anyway.

Thank you for your comment. I’m always pleased to find out who comes across this blog and I recognised your name from one of your articles.

I’m trying to remember what the ref to Griffiths was in my notes (this is a quick internet visit). In “Stuart Britain” he refers to some portrait print adverts I didn’t find, I think I meant that.

I’m intrigued by this! I’m about to publish [next year] a book on Eng 16th & 17thC prints with Yale UP — so I am able to tell you exactly what the “Philosophers Head” and the “Laurel of Metaphysick” etc. look like — but I’m about to check out your list of Walton’s catalogues — the ones not in Antony Griffiths’ PQ list (if I understand your Notes!)
