National Museum of Korea
Today we went to visit the National Museum of Korea in Seoul. It was my third visit, I recorded the second one on my other blog Seoul by Subway. It is a very large building so if you go, don’t expect to see everything at once. Today we were wise enough to be selective and concentrated on archeology, old maps and paintings. I particularly like the paintings on paper and screens that depict Joseon villages, towns and palaces. They often have little people in them going about their daily business, engaging in court ceremonies and sometimes even being a bit naughty. I also like the old Korean portraits of government officials and the nature pictures. I saw a lovely one of snowy white crane taking off over water.
